Double Major at UCLA

Is it possible to double major in two majors in the same department? For example, it looks like there are 5 different majors available in mathematics. Would it be possible to double up? Would this depend on the department? Would it even be of any use to have a double major within the same department?

All I've found so far is the general counseling page (Double Major) which says that it is possible to double major consisting of majors from two different departments.

Well I'm considering doubling Philosophy and English and they're both Humanities. Whether it works the same way within Mathematics specifically, I can't say, but I don't see why not.

But English and Philosophy aren't the same department so it's different.

Both at same school, which I assume is the same with the Mathematics. That would be how I'd assume they'd look at it, "Are the majors at the same school? Oh ya, they are. Cool, that's ok." However, like I said before, I don't know for certain about Mathematics, they may have some funky formula for it. (Haha..math joke.)

no, i'm pretty sure you cant declare multiple majors in the same department.

if you could, then everyone would triple, quadruple, quintuple major because majors within a department are like 95% the same with regards to course requirements.
