Double Major: Biology & Chinese and Minor: Accounting

<p>Is this possible..just a thought. I am going into Pre-Dentistry, so I need a science major. I also wanted to major in Chinese because I am Chinese, but I cannot read or speak (only a little bit of Canto), but i want to speak Mandarin. I also wanted to learn Korean and Italian too.. :( I am currently taking AP Latin (I'm a senior), so it would be a great basis for Italian. I want to minor in Accounting because I need to learn how to manage my financial budgets and stuff..</p>

<p>Btw, how do these double majors work...does that mean you have to take double the courses???? Will i die from studying too much?? lol</p>

<p>yeah you dont need to take a whole minor just to learn how to budget your money. just some common sense and you should be able to work it out on your own.</p>

<p>and you can take chinese classes without having to major in it.</p>

<p>and you can do pre-dental without having a science major.</p>

<p>yah... my friend has a friend (i know, don't you love these stories?) who went to dental school as a japanese major.
you just need to find out the requirements for dental school and make sure you work them into your curriculum. it doesn't require an actual science major, just the appropriate courseload.</p>

<p>It's understandable to have the urge to plan out your entire future, but most likely your mind will change once you start taking a billion classes at a time.</p>

<p>and the thing is, i really want to learn Chinese because i love languages in general. i wanted to learn korean at first, but then i thought about it, and i realized i needed to learn my own language first :D</p>

<p>and the difficulty is not even just because you want to double major. its taking too many classes that require too much time. honestly, learning a language (and becoming fluent in that language) is very time consuming. so learning about 4 or 5 as an undergrad would be suicide, unless you dont mind only knowing how to say "hi" or "where is the bathroom". </p>

<p>and i really dont see the point in taking accouting. but yeah have fun! :)</p>

<p>i'm sort of fluent in Cantonese, but I cannot speak Mandarin. However, i do understand 80% of what Mandarin people are saying. i'm not total newbie in chinese haha</p>

<p>a 3.6 in ee vs a 3.6 in bio.</p>

<p>ee is considered more difficult, so the gpa is weighed more or wtvr</p>

<p>btw thats what my friend (who is an ee) said, he did pretty well on that dental sats stuff too, like 98th percentile</p>
