Double Major in Accounting and Management Information Systems

<p>I'm going to be a freshman. The school I'm attending is top 20 in accounting, but I want to double major in accounting and management information systems, because I like the math/business/computer side of it. I also want to minor in Chinese. After that, I'm going to get a Masters in Accountancy and sit for the CPA. After that, I want to go to law school. Would that combination help me?</p>

<p>No point in double majoring if your goin to law school, but go with math</p>

<p>If he really wants to go to law school I would say go with accounting. There’s a big connection between accounting and law(tax law).</p>

<p>Haha your almost the same as me. My major is accounting and minor is Chinese. I am still deciding if I want to add entrepreneurship or MIS as my 2nd major. Entrepreneurship is what I want to do but MIS would lead to a better job right out of school. My college’s MIS program is ranked 4th in the nation but the entrepreneurship program is also ranked in the top 10 for the nation.</p>

<p>I’m lucky that the things I’m interested in are marketable (accounting, MIS, Chinese). I just don’t know if that combination is helpful, or if there are more helpful combinations out there.</p>

<p>What ever you enjoy doing the most. The combination is helpful if you do software design or network operations for a company the deals with China or Chinese businesses and advises on accounting systems. </p>

<p>You have to use your imagination that’s what innovation is about. Start your own firm that does that and do it while you’re still in college. Figure out a way to save Chinese multinationals $$ by making their software/hardware more efficient or effective. OR create and alternative.</p>

<p>Partner with a software developer who wants to go to china. You’ve got the accounting, language down and you will be familiar enough with the main product to back your partner up. OR Bring a Chinese partner here. </p>

<p>Free your mind. Try to be something other than just mediocre. Do it in a field you enjoy.</p>
