Double Major Civil Engineering and Economics

I will be starting my freshman year in the Fall at ASU Barrett Honor's College. I am a Civil Engineer major, but also have a strong intrest in business. I always go back and forth with what I'd like to do when I get out of school. I thought maybe a double major in Civil Engineering and Economics. Is this a good idea? Will the work load be to much? Is there another type of business that would be better to double major in?
BTW - My dream job is to eventually to become a real estate developer, and I think that a knowledge of construction and economics will be extremely beneficial.

Thanks for the help.

I’d assume getting a bachelor’s in civil engineering, working for a while, and then getting a MBA would be the more popular choice for your goal.

Consider taking some courses in construction management if you want something more pertinent to your goal than economics. It deals more with the business side of civil engineering and the actual construction, which is important to understand for developers.

Civil engineering + MBA would also work.

P.S. I remember hearing some good things about the Del E. Webb School of Construction there a few years back.
