Double major (English with honors and History)?

So I know that to major in history you need to complete History 101 which means completing a 40-50 page thesis paper at some point in your junior or senior year. If I plan on double-majoring with English, I would really like to complete a senior thesis for the English major in order to graduate with honors in that department. Is taking on 2 thesis papers ridiculous? History would most likely be completed the semester of junior year that I don't go abroad, and English either semester of my senior year, but I'm just wondering if this is at all a common thing for people to when they double-major across departments.

English is my first love, and would love to dedicate myself to a thesis, despite it not being required. For the history major, I have no other choice.

Thoughts?

…anyone?

Taking on an honors thesis is an intellectually and emotionally draining task in itself, let alone attempting to write two. However, the majority of your work for the English thesis will be concentrated in the second semester, the first semester mainly being focused on research and lit theory. I think it’s manageable so long as you’re able to space them out. As much as my thesis stressed me out and weighed constantly on my mind, I found it an immensely rewarding experience in the end. I say it’s worth it.

Let me know if you have any questions regarding the English honors program.

great, thanks! I’ll PM you.
