I am a freshman at the University of Miami and recently I changed to the business school after finally deciding that I need to stop following my dad's dream was for me (medical school) and start pursuing mine. I want to prove to my dad that I can make a comfortable living with less debt and much more income.

I am interested in Accounting. But I was also thinking of doing a Finance major to go to IB if possible. Accounting represent the core of business world and I feel that no matter what they will both complement each other.

Is this a good decision? I mean what is the job outlook or projected job outlook for Investment Bankers. I was told by my RA, who is a junior and an accounting major, that IBs are not being hired much. So I was wondering if it's really worth it to double major as in finance.

Thanks
