Is this even remotely possible?

I would be concentrating on composition (I've also heard the composition faculty at Yale are pretty amazing, is this true?)

Yep definitely possible, i think about 15% of Yalies double major. it will just mean that you have to plan out your schedule more than some of your other friends, but you should still have room to take random classes and fulfill your distributional requirements along with the double major. If you have AP science credits it will free up some of your classes since the prereqs for bio can be fulfilled with AP bio chem and physics.

Definitely doable… I think those two majors have a large number of required courses at yale, which may be limiting. I’d definitely recommend trying to pass out of as many of the biology prereqs as you can with AP Bio, AP Chem, AP Calc BC, and AP physics C. If you can pass out of many of the bio prereqs and take organic chemistry in your freshman year, it will be much easier to do a double major in bio and music.

I actually do not recommend APing out of the intro bio class at Yale. I had a 5 on AP bio and still struggled to get only a A- in MCDB 120. Yale is ALOT more in depth than the AP and regardless of your preparation it is probably a good idea to take 120. Many of the students who do not take either 120 or 200 intro bio struggle in Cell bio and genetics (according to professors) so that is a class you should definitely take.

I have no idea about music though.

You might be able to get a jump on music if you can place out of the required theory and musicianship prereqs. (My son didn’t, although he had pretty much theory already.)

Thank you for all of the responses! I’m planning on taking AP Chem and AP Calc BC next year and AP Bio and AP Physics (possibly) senior year considering I’m a sophomore right now, so this is looking good :)
