How difficult is it to double major in CAS and Wharton? I want to pursue a liberal arts education but feel that business could be useful; thus, I am hesitant to apply directly to Wharton, but can envision myself double majoring in CAS and Wharton. Is this feasible? On the website it says that all you have to do is complete the coursework for both majors. Then why do so many people try so hard to transfer to Wharton every year when they could just double major?

It’s not a double major, its a dual degree and you must be accepted as a transfer to Wharton in order to pursue this option. I know at least two kids who are doing this. They have more credits to complete than for a double major because they have to fulfill the requirements for both schools. You can do an inter school minor taking Wharton classes if you are in CAS but you cannot do any of the Wharton concentrations unless you are in Wharton. Also, they don’t have majors in Wharton, they have concentrations which require less coursework than a major.

If you do go to Wharton, you are required to take 40% of your classes outside of Wharton, so you will be getting a good amount of liberal arts education. I don’t know too much about the dual degrees though.
