Double major in Econ + Comp Sci ?

Hi,

I am currently considring my transfer options and would like to know if two major from different departments are optional?

Econ is under Letters and Science and Comp Sci is under Engneering.
Is it possible to double major in both?
Other options or suggestions?

Thank you!

There’s a CS degree in L&S, which is essentially the same degree as an EECS degree with focus towards CS, rather than EE.

What is the difference between B.S to B.A in Computer Science?

There’s no B.S. in cs at Berkeley. However, if u get a B.S. in EECS, you can get away with taking only 2 EE classes, which are lower division and a good general overview of EE.

Classes you’ll have to take for EECS, where you won’t have to for CS: EE20N, Physics 7A, Physics 7B, Math 53, and one extra science class.

Classes you’ll have to take for CS, where you won’t have to for EECS: 3 more breadth classes than EECS (which can be taken Pass/Not Pass and a lot of them easily give out A’s [you’ll have to look at courserank.com or myedu.com to find out what these classes are]).

For CS, you have to take 27 units of upperdiv tech electives from a specified list.

For EECS, the upper div requirements are so little that it’s not even worth looking up. A lot of ppl can graduate in 3 years for EECS.
