Double Major in Economics B.S. and International Relations B.A.

From Penn State at University Park? Would you say it's a waste of time? I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section or anything. My adviser isn't the most helpful and thought I'd try my luck here. I currently have 3.5 GPA, but I'm expecting to improve it by at least a 3.6-3.8 by the time I actually graduate. Any help would be great. Oh.. also I'm interested in grad school, but back in Europe (I'm from Bulgaria). Preferably UK or Germany.

I don’t feel like the International Relations major would really help you get a job because it doesn’t provide you so much with a specific skill set like a BS in economics would (I assume it’s a heavily quantitative program).

So then I think the decision becomes whether you should do what you want to do. If you like IR, then go ahead.

You can do international econ within the econ BS program. If you want to broaden your focus on international studies or just for personal interest, a double major in International Studies would be fine. It really depends on what you plan to do and what field you want to pursue graduate studies. If you want to go to grad school in econ, at least in American grad programs, the field is heavily quantitative and your time might be better spent in math and statistics courses.
