HI all, this question is for my brother. I would like to ask which one is better for admission to top MBA programs - Double major in Finance and Econs vs. Major in Finance and minor in Math. He thinks having math as minor can show them his high quantitative skill.

Major in econ and minor in math while taking several finance courses to satisfy your econ elective requirements

You want potency? Major in math, minor in econ, or finance, either way little to no difference as long as you have that BS Math. After that the world is yours, you can do whatever you want. If you don’t believe it, do some HW and look around, no further than wiki, all the top gunners have strong mathematical backgrounds starting at the BS level as the least. Many will have related areas like physics or engineering, but if you keep searching you’ll soon see a pattern of what’s being said here develop. Some interesting examples for starters, just to name a few- Google, General Electric, Microsoft, and my personal favorite, one most haven’t heard of- the future of finance- Renaissance Technologies. Happy trails

A little late I was I noticed after the fact, hopefully not too late
