I was offered a full scholarship at a Tier 2 school in TFine Arts - not a particular strong school but a full ride. I want to double major or at least minor in Poli Sci or Bus or ? - Because I want to get into a T25 grad program for a MBA/JD or MBA. I am talented enough to get scholarships for Fine Arts but more interested in the business aspect of another field may law or politics. Some ideas on how to get the "best bang for the buck", kind of like what a athlete would do to get a free education I guess. Any ideas? Is this a really good idea? Still confused on what I want to do but I do want to the best prepared for the business world.
Thanks for any input

I think it’s a great idea, if the school curriculum/course load permits it. You should go over the course requirements for the BFA VERY CAREFULLY and see if there’s actually any time to take other courses or if the school will even allow it (some schools don’t!) It may be that to do it, you could wind up finishing school in five years, which could mean you might have to pay for a year yourself, but still…4 years full ride is pretty great.

It’s likely you’ll end up spending summers taking courses for your other major (or minor, if that’s the only way it can be done). If not, consider using theater connections to land a business internship during the summers – something on the management or accounts or front office part of a theater, maybe? that will make you more interesting to business schools.

just some thoughts. Many of the web sites for theater schools say that a theater major can excel in law, medicine, business, journalism, whatever.

the trick is you have to be committed to working extremely hard and making sure you take the extra courses that will set you up for success later for the GMATs or LSATs
