I'm going to be in MCS next fall and I'd like to do my 2nd major in business. How hard is it to do an additional major in business given than you have to "apply" for it? Are you guaranteed admission if you meet the GPA + course requirements and have enough time to finish the major? I'm doing the OR concentration in Math so many of the pre-reqs for business will overlap. I'd love to hear from anyone who's familiar with the admissions process.

It’s not hard as long as your GPA is reasonable, but given that I know what your game plan is, I don’t think you need that Business Major.

^ If its not too much trouble, can you explain a bit more?

Which part?

The part about not needing a business major.

Also, does anyone know whether additional business majors can do a track if they have enough space in their schedule? If so, does this track appear on their transcript?

The track does not appear on the transcript regardless.

Can you still do one if you’re an additional business major? I don’t get how track requirements work for secondary business majors.

You don’t need to do a track for the degree and taking track classes gives you no benefit. You can obviously take the classes for fun if you want.

^ Got it. I’d like to do the finance track for fun if I do a 2nd major in business. Thanks for responding to my thread; you’ve been really helpful. Are you in Tepper?
