Is it easy to double major in molecular & cellular bio and public health? The prerequisites are similar except public health has a little more. I plan to apply to medical school and attend UC Berkeley. What other majors/minors would you guys recommend?

I heard from a lot of people that MCB is a really tough and competitive major, but so long as you are dedicated and you work hard, it’s definitely doable.

Public Health, on the other hand, is impacted, so you might have to maintain a certain GPA in your prerequisites, fill out another application, write an essay, and/or attend an interview. It does seem like a really interesting major!

You might also want to look into Integrative Biology, too, if you’re planning on going into premed.

Note that being pre-med does not require any specific undergraduate major, although the biology majors overlap with most of the pre-med course requirements.
