Hi,
I am wondering what is the best double major someone can major in BUS. I am think about MIS and International BUS. or what is better? What my chances be and the outlook for the market.
Thank you.

I just don’t buy the Int Business degree. I think it’s pointless and often times the worst BBA you can get besides Hospitality Management.

Accounting and MIS is definitely a winner.

“Accounting and MIS is definitely a winner.”

second that

Finance doesn’t go as well with MIS as with accounting. Finance (major) & Accounting (minor) would be more suitable in case you are wondering.

What if he’s not interested in Accounting? Have you two realized THAT?
Honestly, this recent hype over Accounting is getting stupid and annoying.

His question was “I am think about MIS and International BUS. or what is better? What my chances be and the outlook for the market.”
Since I never really researched into International Business, I gave him my opinion and what I knew about that included MIS (since he seems to like MIS). I wasn’t sure if he was asking about the job outlook for the majors he mentioned or just the job outlook in general so Finance and Accounting is what most people would suggest since both majors have a strong outlook in the business world, if not at this point. Accounting goes best with MIS so I suggested him that + its the language of business. Since I am also going into accounting, it was just a matter of opinion.
I think we should argue less and help more on these forums…every time I get on there is an argument…now that is also an opinion

What are you talking about sp? He asked for an opinion.

MIS doesn’t go well with International Business.

Look into supply chain/operations management, sammy1. I would advise you to get a foreign language minor. If your school is really good in International Business, go for it. And yes, apparently Accounting is good with MIS if you want to get into that sort of thing.

Thank you all for your replies. I am thinking about Accounting and MIS since both can lead me to a great carreer. I like both because they have to do with foundation and decsion making. Also, am taking Chinese and getting ready for the world.

That’s exactly what I’m doing Sammy87. I’m taking Chinese 101 my freshman year and plan on double majoring in Accounting and MIS.

That determination and enthusiasm, especially about Accounting and MIS will take you far. I share the same enthusiasm and luckily for both fields just like you. Lately, I was reading that accountants are becoming more and more aware of information systems so its good for people who not only like the accounting side, but also the technology aspects of it. I am looking for more insights from people who are already practically working in the field of AIS rather than read more articles about it, but its hard to find.

I was originally an International Business major because I’ve always enjoyed business, enjoyed other cultures, and have been studying foreign languages for about 6 years. However, my counselors have told me that Int’l Bus. majors aren’t in great demand, and usually only land a good job out of college if they double major in something else. In your case this may work out. In my case, I ended up switching to Business Management with a Foreign Language minor. This way I still get a solid foundation in business, and I’m still able to access foreign cultures via communicating in another language.
