I am an incoming freshman at UF. I have not been to preview yet, and was wondering if I would be able to double major in psychology and education. Most (if not all) of my gen. ed. requirements should be satisfied with my AP/IB scores, so would double majoring make it take longer than 4 years to graduate? Also, I know that the education program is 5 years, so can I even double major if I am in it?

Try google. There’s a list somewhere on the UF website that tells you all the majors that you can combine and double major in. Also if UF sees that double majoring is going to take longer than X years (4 or 5 yrs, forgot which one) then they won’t allow you to seek a double major. Either way you can find answer to a lot of your question (as well as questions many people post on here) on google and the UF website.

You won’t be able to declare a double major until you complete all of the critical tracking for a particular major. Most incoming students have either completed their Gen Ed’s or put a dent in it. THat has no bearing on declaring majors. You really need to explore how many critical tracking courses for Psych and Edu have you completed and this information may be found on ISIS > Degree Audit > Complete Audit.
