Ideally, I would like to double major in Computer Science (CSE) and Mathematics (MAT). On the aforementioned page I read this:

"Double majors leading to a Bachelor of Science degree may be composed of either of the following combinations:

• A major in applied mathematics and statistics (AMS) plus a major in computer science (CSE).."

Does this mean that if I want my second major to be pure mathematics (MAT) and not applied mathematics and statistics (AMS) that would I have to get a BA, and not a BS?

Quickly, it is entirely possible to major in CSE and MAT.

Double Majors for Students in College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Science Degree):
Double majors leading to a Bachelor of Science degree may be composed of either of the following combinations:

A major in computer science (CSE) plus any major in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences, or the School of Journalism

CSE is in the College of Engineering and Applied Science
MAT is in the College of Arts and Sciences
AMS is in the College of Engineering and Applied Science

To receive a Bachelor’s of Science, you must declare CSE as your first major. This will put you in the College of Engineering and Applied Science, despite having a second major (MAT) in the College of Arts and Sciences. This also means that you follow CEAS DEC requirements, so keep that in mind due to Note 1.

Note 1: For students with majors in both the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences, the D.E.C. and general education requirements for the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences are required.

I have a similar question. I am planning to transfer there for fall 14, and I am planning to do something similar, double major in Econ and Finance. But my concern is that is it a double major or a double degree? (Because I know that Econ is in the college of arts and sciences and Finance is under Mgt in the College of Business). And it SB website, it says that you need 144 credits for double degree and 120 for double major. So which one is it? And how many credits in total do you think I will need to do both. And once again, is it a double major or a double degree.
