double major

If I do a double major with biology and business will that get me a better chance for med school acceptances compared to biology major and business minor or do med schools not really care? What is the difference between double and dual major? Also if I have a 3.6 double major GPA but a 3.7 bio major GPA will they prefer one over the other? I have heard that a business major will open many doors. If I do a double major that means I have to take an extra like 8 classes for my business major right? and therefore I need to take like 6 classes a semester instead of the usuall four, right?
Thank You

Doing a double major will not help you. It could even hurt you if doing so means that your overall GPA would suffer. You’re better off stickting to one major, doing your best, and emerging with the highest GPA you can.

Can someone please give me more information?
Please:)
Thanks

What else do you want to hear?

No, it will not. In fact, it may decrease your chances assuming that you use the additional time that you get back for extra curricular activities as a major-minor vs major-major. I’d take the higher GPA any day over a double major. Schools are, in part, chained to the rankings system. There are no extra points for giving double majors. There are extra points for higher GPAs.

Thanks both of you.
