does anyone know if its possible to double major in film production and fine arts? ive been accepted as an art major, but want to do film also. is it too late/not possible to do both?

It probably would have been easier if you were already accepted as a film major. Getting approved as a film major at this point will probably take some work. If you can get accepted into CNTV, then you will definitely be able to go for that double major.

At the accepted students reception we attended in HI 4/1, they strongly encourage students to double major (or at least major & minor). It's best to check with the USC advisors for specifics, in the school to which you were admitted. In any case, it's way to early to COMMIT to exactly what you're going to be studying. College is a time to explore & learn--you might fine the 2nd major in a field you don't know exists! That's one of the reasons USC gives for having its general ed requirements--to have students stretch themselves & learn about other fields.
I believe it's very competitive to get into the film school, but you can call USC & ask them for more info.

I actually have a similar dilemma. I wanted to double major in finance and film and I was told that I had to apply to the college of film for fall 2007. I think you have to submit some materials for them to look over.

double major with one major in the cinema school sounds really hard, because of all the time commitment for the film projects that cinema classes have. I suppose it's entirely possible though.

If you're interested, I would see an advisor in the cinema school sometime as soon as possible, to work out what plans are possible for you to do it in 4 years. If you're entering freshman this fall, just see an advisor sometime first few weeks of classes.
