How hard is it to double major at Duke? Im thinking of double majoring in either economics and history or economics and political science and was wondering if anyone has done these and if it would be doable.

It is extremely common to double major and the combinations you mentioned are more than doable. Even engineers can double major in a Trinity major...Duke definitely encourages taking many courses outside your declared major.

Some engineers even say that double majoring between majors is easier than the single major. A buddy of mine is majoring in BME and ME and loves it.

I would like to double major between Pratt and Trinity (environmental engineering and public policy). Would I need to meet all the minimum requirements for Trinity, such as for foreign language?

Re: eulalia

No. If you want to have an engineering major, you must enroll in Pratt and follow Pratt's requirements. You are free to major in anything in Trinity, but don't have follow Trinity's requirements.

Yes, the engineering major must always be the primary major if one plans to double major.

yup I am Electrical Engineering and Econ double major and its definaely doable. Its a ton of work but I am also on a dance team, play im sports, and am in a frat. Given, I don't get the world's largest amount of sleep but its definately doable. One of the reasons I came to duke was because it is one of the most flexible schools (ie one of the easiest schools to double major in) n the top 10.

nope none of those Trinity requirements for you eulalia...and you can se all th ap credit you have to free up your schedule
