double major?

Okay so I know I don't want to make my career in public accounting; accounting is one of the best ways to launch a career in business. With that being said, I know I want to work in public accounting for 2-3 post graduation. After that, however, I see myself working in corporate finance or managment consulting, for a company like Deloitte, IBM, etc. Not mkinsey, bain, or Goldman Sachs.

My question is, would ALSO majoring in Finance in addition to accounting be beneficial? Or would the work experience be the biggest thing when applying to MBA programs and corporate finance/consulting positions when Im 25 or so?

Right now I am leaning toward just majoring in Accounting as I can always apply for an MBA with a concentration in Finance, but I would like my company to pay for it, and I'm ASSUMING most public accounting firms don't pay for MBA if you already have your cpa.

I cannot stress that I am NOT a wannabe ivy leaguer who has unrealistic dreams of working at Goldman Sachs and Mckinsey. I have to declare all my majors in the next few weeks.

I would get my B.S. in accounting and then get a MBA with a concentration in finance. Yes experience is key. It depends on what company you are working for but a MBA is always valued in business even with a CPA license. Most CFOs are MBA holders with a CPA license.
