Double major

Sorry, I'm a mom, but I need help from a Tufts student.

Tufts came to our high school's college night, and my son really liked it. However, I made the mistake of discouraging him because of the double major requirement. From reading the literature we just got, I'm thinking he really may like the school, and it's worth a try.

Please enlighten us as to the double major requirements. He is interested in biomedical engineering, which is tough enough, and to have a second major added onto that may be too much.

Please let me know if there is indeed a double major requirement and what it entails.

We live in New Orleans and a trip to Boston area would be expensive, but we're willing to do it if Tufts would be a possibility.

Son definitely wants out of the South, and will not touch Texas since Katrina, so weather won't be a factor, so far.

Thanks for any help y'all can give, and good luck with your studies.

I think you misunderstood something. There is no double major requirement.

I'm in the school of engineering and, as far as I know, there's no requirement that students have multiple majors.

Thanks for the input, guys. Will pass it on to son. Good luck in your studies!
