Double majoring in International Politics and Classics?

Hey guys, I just got back from my FTCAP and switched into the College of Liberal Arts because all the majors I am interested are basically in there. A few caught my attention and I'm really interested in International Politics, Classics, Sociology, and Crime, Law, and Justice. I know I have some time but I have no idea what to do! The reason I want to double major in International Politics and Classics is because I took a class in high school, which really got me into the Middle East area and how different and corrupt their society is compared to others. Now, I am interested in Sociology, as well. I was also eyeing Crime, Law, and Justice (specifically Criminology) because i'm interested in learning behind the reason behind a murder/crime.

I talked to a few people but, literally, everyone shot me down when I told them I am interested in Classics, Soc, and Crime, Law, and Justice, saying that they are not "practical" and I won't get a good job with those degrees. But the thing is is that I do plan on going to grad school (probably for Classics or Soc). With all this negativity, I'm trying to find which two major pairs would be most practical to find a decent job with (now that some have freaked me out)? Would the pair above be ideal to major in? Why do people always bring me down because i'm majoring in liberal arts? It's so annoying. These probably aren't easy majors! Sorry if this was more of a rant!

Ok, first…take a deep breath…

Second, realize you haven’t even started freshman year yet, and you don’t have to declare a major(s) until second semester sophomore year.

Thrid, the difference between high school and college is that you are now making the decisions, so forget the people who give you nothing but negativity (even if they are your parents) and do what you think is best.

Fourth, when you get to school, take your time and figure all of this out…it doesn’t have to be done the first day.

Loll i’m just really excited for college! But you’re right. Thanks!

Take a class in Poli Sci and one is classics. Compare them is how much you enjoyed them etc. Choose a major.
