Double majoring in Psychology & Creative writing?

I will be a High School Senior this year and I have always said I wanted to be a writer, but well aware of the instability and likely lack of a decent paycheck, I knew I couldn't bank on that and decided I would be an English teacher, but attempt to write on the side. However, it recently dawned on me that I was only settling for education because I wasn't really sure of what I wanted to do and hadn't explored my options. I have always had straight A's in everything, although I struggle a bit more in math and some sciences. I looked more into jobs with better salaries and became interested in being a child psychologist and think that with some hard work I could manage it just fine, but I don't want to give up on writing altogether. So basically, I am wondering if it is possible to double major in psychology and creative writing without too much trouble? I understand the concept of studying extensively, but don't want too much stress on my shoulders. Any opinions/advice?

Do it, nuff said

Hey, I’m in the same boat, except I’m a junior in high-school and I figure I always wanted to do psychology… but I also really, really love writing. So I really want to double major in both. But it just so happens that double majors usually have to do with each other… and I’m not sure how much these two majors have to do with each other. But I think we should just go for it!! Don’t you? I suppose it would be demanding, but if you truly believe that there isn’t anything else you would want to do, then why not?
I wish you all the best!

Ditto! I love to write and have since I was five, but I recently discovered my passion of psychology. Does anyone know of any colleges that would offer a double major in these?

Any college that has both majors should work. Talk to academic advisors early in your college career to ensure you’re taking courses in the correct sequence.
