Hi, I am currently a senior and have just put in early action applications for 5 schools (Umass amherst, bentley university, uconn, temple university, and osu). I live in Mass and currently have a 3.9 GPA with 7 APs and 9 Honors classes, I have good ECs, was born in India and am fluent in Hindi and English, and have had multiple employments including one steady job for the past 3 years.
I would like to study business management, but am considering a double major with communications (depending on the school). I would like to keep my options open but my dream is to one day be a PR manager/manager for musicians/bands/ect. I know it will be hard to get there but it's just a dream. What i am unsure of is if double majoring will be too much work and how i would go about doing it.
Another thing i am unsure about is where else to apply to school. I don't really have a preference besides it having to be less than 500ish miles from home and being either medium sized or large. I would also like a school that has a somewhat prestigious reputation and will help me with internships and finding a job after i graduate. Location is kind of important too, i would prefer it to be closer to a city so that i can more easily access internships and go to concerts (it sounds stupid but they are the few things that make me very happy)
can anyone help? your suggestions would be great!!!

Hi! I’m a current sophomore at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Your high school grades, AP classes, and EC’s are great to have and it sounds like you will have a very solid college application. While I don’t know if Marist is a school you have considered, I am a business major here and find the program very rewarding. I came into Marist with 12 credits from high school AP classes, and because of that, I have room in my time here to either double major, or major with a double minor. I’m a finance major right now, with a minor in accounting and am still considering a minor in Public Relations like you. Marist has an amtrack train station right off campus, making an hour trip to the city extremely easy and accessible. Many students are able to find internships this way and are open to more opportunities just because of our location. Marist also offers things like “Marist in Manhattan,” where students can spend a semester studying in Manhattan itself, and mock interview days, where major companies come and do practice interviews, which is a great way to get a foot in in this business world. I hope this helps!
