I may want to major in business along with something else. Which one of these combinations would go well together in terms of

1.workload, shared curriculum (not too much)
2.job placement (want to get an MBA)
3.oppurtunities in Asia

Economics + Business
Chemistry + Business
Physics + Business
Environmental Science + Business

Thanks for your advice!

Do whatever interests you most. You are already learning a trade by being in business (assuming you’re in finance, accounting, operations, IS, etc.), so use your other major/minor to pursue an academic interest.

but how about the other factors? they all interest me enough to want to get those majors, so what do you think?

Econ is a fairly compatible major to go with business. Chemistry and physics would make no difference with employers except for a possible “wow” factor for academic rigor on your resume. And, ES has some connection with business as corporations are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious and have to deal with increasingly heavy environmental regulations.

Be sure to note that you will be a busy student if you decide to double major in a bio, chem, or physics and business. I purposely avoided double majoring into an intensive discipline like political science for this very reason. Don’t go into business, as many mistakenly do, thinking that it will be a breeze. At least where I go to school (BC), I have heard that the two hardest majors are accounting and chemistry.

Is Econ compatible enough with Business Administration to graduate in three years?
Are courses very similar?

USC says you can definetley major in business in three years, but what about this double major?
