Double Minor at the College of Engineering

Hey guys,

I just committed to Michigan today and am really excited!

Had a quick question on minors that we could elect.

I'm planning on studying Biomedical or Electrical Engineering and was thinking of taking some minors along with it. I was planning on taking the International Minor that the College of Engineering offers. From prior experiences, is that an useful minor to have?

I was also considering possibly a minor in Computer Science or Applied Statistics as well.

Basically my question is...are these useful minors to have? If so, how are they going to be beneficial in the eyes of an employer?

Is it possible for me to double minor? I searched the website but couldn't find much info on that.

Thanks for all the help!

Ugh work on your major first before you consider a minor. I know a lot of people here that came in thinking they’d do a double major and minor. Then they always just decide on just one major due to the difficulty and workload.

It’s possible to quadruple minor if you really wanted. It’s all about how many semesters and how much work you’re willing to put into it. That’s a major commitment. Like ForeverAlone just said, just focus on a major first, then deal with your minor later. You have a lot of time.
