I was recently accepted into UMD's Pre-medicine program, but I'm having doubts that I'll be able to do well and make it into Medical school.. I have a GPA of 3.7 and I am 11th in my class of 87.. My ACT score was a 23, I have really bad test anxiety.. Should I change my path now before I spend thousands on a medical degree I can't handle? I've never wanted to be anything other than a doctor and I really can't see myself as anything else, but I don't want to look back 5 years from now wishing I would have chose the easier, less expensive, route. I love all Chemistry, Physics, and Human Anatomy classes and have gotten A's in them.. I'm just really nervous. Can anybody show me some light? Or just be honest and tell me I should start finding a new career?

Getting into med school requires very high grades and a high score on the MCAT. During med school you’ll have to take two licensing exams. After residency you’ll need to take tests for board certification and possibly subspecialty certification. For a growing number of fields you’ll have to take a recertification exam every few years.

That’s the reality.

You also can learn coping skills and test-taking skills. How motivated are you?
