Downward Trend= Screwed?

Hello CC-ers,
I am a senior with a horrible downward trend.
Well, that is what I think, and what my friends mentioned.
Do I EVEN have a downward trend?
My counselor says I should be fine.
Please tell me if my chances will be affected.
I am doing RD.

If anyone wants my:
1. Academic Index
2. SAT Reasoning Scores
3. SAT Subject Test Scores
4. Rank
5. School Type(Inflation/Deflation/Charter/Public,...etc)
6. Counselor/Teacher Recommendations
7. Courseload
I am glad to provide more information.

I will graduate with 14AP classes, some self-studies and mostly classes.

Regards,
fse

I don’t see a downward trend that would affect you greatly. I’m grossed out by your user name though! :)

I don’t see the downward trend. Honestly, though, I see 14 Bs. Depending on what subjects they are in, and what the rest of your stats are, this isn’t great.

@T26E4:

I’m in class right now and I interrupted the entire room laughing at your reply!
lol

Sorry for my name.
You can check my feet from to bottom, I don’t engage in the foot-skin eating practice.
I just found it on the internet a few days ago, and I found it very interesting.

Mostly, due to a different setting, I have received Bs in nonacademic subjects.

Bump.
Any more inquiries?

I think your Rank will be a big factor in this section of your application.

A few B’s here and there is generally nothing to worry about. However, you’re going to have a lot of convincing to do to the admissions committee. How can you show them that you stand out; what should make them pick you, with 14 B’s, instead of the valedictorian with a 2400?

Well my SAT is up there (2380, maybe retake), and my subject test scores (the subjects that I have Bs) are all 800s (4+2).
My ECs are actually my trump card.

My rank is top 10%, highest rank available. We are in a small school.

Well now, taken in that context, your B’s do not seem very big at all. You’ve got some seriously impressive stats.

Trump card, eh? Let me see them! I consider mine the same way, so I’m curious!

That is great news.
I have replied to you via PM.

Thank you!
I love this website.

Don’t retake a 2380, whatever you do…

I wouldn’t worry about stats. Make your application compelling.

Your stats are great! As is the username. Lol. I admit I’m curious about the EC’s too though.

Thank you!
Send me a PM and I will show you my trump card.

2380? not high enough. Do you know how many 2400 students HYP reject?

Actually, while on the subject of why HYP would reject a 2400 student… I don’t think, after reading MANY comments by adcoms, that any difference exists in their minds between 2300 and 2400. Or that a 2200 applicant wouldn’t be preferred over a 2380 applicant if the 2200 applicant seemed conveyed a compelling, cohesive story about the direction in life and how they would be a welcome addition to the HYP community.

Your time would be better spend that Saturday morning helping someone, somewhere.

high reach. no downward trend but the Bs will definitely hurt since GPA is weighted more heavily than test scores. There are approximately 10-15 kids with SAT scores about 100 pts higher than mine (2350ish) who arent in the top 10% (I am). Kids with high gpa’s tend to do better from our school so im assuming the same for you
I think Bs make Yale unlikely. The kids applying to Yale from my school have straight A’s, 2300s, and insane ECs and they might not get in so Bs make Yale quite unlikely

I wouldn’t waste a Saturday retaking a 2380. Unless you’d just be sitting around eating foot skin otherwise.
