Yesterday in the mail I received multiple letters from West Point. One was an LOA, another explained that I did not meet height/weight standards and if I still did not by April 15 I would be disqualified. Anyone ever hear of this before? Anyone have any advice for training in long distance running and still gaining 10 pounds? Thanks for your help.

I’m pretty sure that this was through Army, not DODMERB. Anyone know if the other Service Academies have similar height/weight standards?

What distance do you run?

My advice would be to find a qualified personal trainer who can help you with both your diet (and supplements if necessary) and also adding muscle through strength training.

I would also check and make sure that the height and weight measurements that USMA has on file are correct. Keep in contact with your RC in admissions. If you have an LOA, USMA will likely work with you to get a waiver for your DQ if they can see that you are highly motivated and willing to do your part.

Congratulations on your LOA and good luck!
