What is the drama scene at BC like? Are they some good troupes I can join?

The theatre department is very active and a fantastic community. Check out bc.edu/theatre to learn more about the program – you don’t need to be a major to be in classes, audition for shows, or do backstage work. There are two student-run groups – Contemporary Theatre and Dramatics Society that each do two productions a year (CT does one musical and one straight play, DS does 2 straight plays). The Theatre Dept is a family and being involved is a GREAT way to meet people as a freshman.

There are also some improv groups – My Mother’s Fleabag and Hello, Shovelhead are the two I know of, and I think they might be the only two. They’re also pretty popular.

Asinine and CCE are other improv groups on campus.

ahh yay! this makes me happy. I was hoping there was a good theater group on campus for non majors. Thanks!!
