Transfer Theatre Question

Hi everyone,

I’m a prospective B.C. transfer student and I just had a some quick questions. What’s the theatre program like at B.C.? I won’t be a theatre major, but I’m just curious if non-theatre students can participate in the productions. Are there any popular theatre groups/clubs on campus? Are there any improv or singing groups?

Thanks for the help.

You don’t have to be a theatre major to be apart of the different plays/musicals. And there are many (probably around 8 or more) a capella groups and a few improv and comedy groups.

The a cappella groups are SO good, but they are pretty competitive. We also have a chorale, wind ensemble, pep band, marching band, orchestra and probably some others.

That sounds awesome. Thanks for the help.

You can ABSOLUTELY participate in theatre activities without being a theatre major! Many non-majors take part in all aspects of theatre – production, performance, organization, stage management, etc.

The theatre “groups” are the Dramatics Society (DS) and Contemporary Theatre (CT). Each does one production per semester directed, designed, built, and performed by students.

There are also numerous Department productions/workshops/other opportunities all the time.
