Theatre Question from a Prospective Transfer

Hi everyone,

I’m a prospective B.U. transfer student and I just had a some quick questions. What’s the theatre program like at B.U. I won’t be a theatre major, but I’m just curious if non-theatre students can participate in the productions. Are there any popular theatre groups/clubs on campus? Are there any improv or singing groups?

Thanks for the help.

The theatre program at BU is excellent…one of the most selective in the nation. It is an auditioned BFA program. The department also offers a theatre minor.

Non-theatre students cannot participate in School of Theatre productions. However, BU has excellent and very active extracurricular theatre groups. At a big school like BU, there are many very talented people who choose not to study theatre but love it and want to be involved in it.

Go to the BU website and click on “Campus Life” at the top of the home page. Select “Student Life” and you will find a link to a list of clubs, some of which have email addresses.

Thanks for the help!
