I haven’t heard much about their program. Here are good schools which offer dramtic writing: Depaul, NYU, USC, Chapman, Bennington, Bard College, Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Cornish College Of The Arts, Columbia College Chicago, CUNY: Brooklyn, Burlington College, Drexel, Emerson College, Hampshire College, Loyola Marymount University, Goddard College, Ohio University and Univeristy of Arts. I would start and check out each of these programs. The best out of these are: NYU, USC, Chapman, Bennington, Bard College and Loyola.

My older brother is graduating this year from Purchase as a Journalism Major. I don’t think he has taken dramatic writing but I do know that he has taken several other writing courses, and has very positive experiences.

How’s Purchase journalism major, btw. How would you rate it to NYU?

I would probably rate NYU’s journalism major better than Purchase’s, just because NYU is a private school with a large endowment and more prestige. However, because of the small size of Purchase’s journalism major, my brother gets attention and opportunities that I do not know he would have received if he went to NYU (which he did not apply to- ED to Purchase).

He frequently gets passes to attend major sport venues (he is focusing in sports journalism) such as Knicks, Mets/Yankees and Ranger hockey games. In addition he writes for an online magazine and is considering a job for the NY Post next year (after graduation).

Thanks. I would like to get into arts journalism or be a critic/reporter. I’m also intrested in dramatic writing.
