I went from a 26 to a 31, and i dont think i was ever investigated...

my english score went from a 25 to a 35!!! Yay! reading went from 24 to 31! Sci went from 29 to 30....and math went from 24-26... id really like to have a 33 comp, but im not sure if i could get there...i suck at math...

futurenyustudent --> I studied my ASS off for the SAT (2140); my ACT was the 2 weeks after (had PSAT week after SAT); I didn't do any special review for the ACT at ALL. I got a 35 composite (36 on math and science, lower on reading and writing I believe). I'm very happy w/ that score, and am not gonna bother takin the ACT again.

therefore, if you have a 1940 SAT and you plan to review for the ACT, you should definitely be able to get a 32+

evilbooya congrats on that 36 math and science. How did you get a 36 science? I cant get past 26 because the time is soo short and because some questions are just a pain the ***.

I got a 34 on the first try, not taking it again. I didn't study very much-just looked over some basic english stuff, as that was my lowest grade (31 on my practice test). To be honest, the first practice test I took I got 31/35/34/35 E/M/R/S, and I got 32/35/34/35 on the real thing, so studying didn't really help me.

damn.. I took PR tests as well as tests from the Official REAL ACT prep book. The PR tests seem much harder :(. Was hoping that the REAL ACT prep book would be more representative of the real test..

Funny wazzup, I thought the exact opposite. I found the PR tests to be a bit easier than The Real ACT prep's tests.

The Real ACT prep tests, however, give you a very close approximation to the scores you will receive (makes sense considering they are real act tests from a couple years ago). Expect your composite on the real test to probably be 1-2 points lower than what you get on the Real ACT Prep tests, since they tend to make the test slightly more difficult as the years go by.

lol.. interesting.

Got a 31 composite on the REAL ACT prep tests but got a 29 on the PR tests. Getting 1-2 point lower on the real test would mean that I'd probably get around a 29-30 on the real thing... That's not good enuogh for Upenn or Brown :(.. doh

i had a weird experience with the real ACT prep. I got a 32 composite on the practice test i took with a 27 english and 35 science. I got a 33 composite on the actual test with a 36 english and 29 science

I'd just like to say that PR tests are representive of the ACT test. I got a 29 on two of my PR practice tests and got the same score on the real thing!

bridmark, I got a 35 composite (first try) and a 2240 (after 2 tries). I got a 2090 on the SAT the first time (totally cold) and used 5 tests from the blue book and the one released test as preparation. That resulted in an improvement of 150 points. Then, only because the state mandated so, I took the ACT. I got a 35, 100% cold. No prep whatsoever. But I do think the SAT prep (i think the SAT is much harder) helped a lot.
