450 for 250 one - trying to cut it down... its hard b/c this is said to be my best out of 3... or shud i just cut the 600 word one down to 300 . lol.

<p>Mine are about 600, 340, and 320 words respectively. I asked the adcom who came on Sunday, and she said that the limits are guidelines. She says to try to keep it to about 50 words over, or maximum 100 words over. She said that they are not going to be counting every word, or stop reading the essay at the limit, but she asked for us to be respectful of their wishes and don't send in a 10 page paper or something. Hope that helps.</p>
<p>i was there also but whether or not it was a "guideline" u should still try to respect their wishes. they have 1500 apps to read and if you can help them with that time that would be the test. ur 600 one is fine and ur 340 one is fine. if you could cut the 450 one a bit (not cut out anything but make shorter sentences that say just as much) to under 400 words that would probably be the best. if you cant then oh well lol</p>
<p>There is no limit. It is also impossible to tell the difference between a 500 and a 600 word essay when you're reading. As long as it doesn't go over by a large amount you should be fine. I remember that I submitted 5 650 word essays with last year's app and I still got in.</p>
<p>wow. mzhang. thx so much. i am so frustrated cuz everyone says my supposed 250 words but actually 450 words essay is definitely the best.... so i dont even know how to cut it down. i guess i wont do much then.</p>
