Dream school: UCSB chance and i will chance back and i will be so thankful!!

<p>Hi all! UCSB is my absolute dream school, and I know my stats I will provide you with are a bit low, but I feel like I have a chance, although relatively small, I'm trying to stay positive! I am a senior at a private school in CA.</p>

<p>UC gpa : 3.5
Weighted: 3.8
SAT I: 1920
SAT II: English : 600 Math II: 480</p>

<p>A few honors courses throughout high school.
I have completed 4 college courses at the local community college.
Astronomy
Applied calculus I
American Sign Language
Italian I</p>

<p>On my application my EC's i put were:</p>

<p>-Varisty soccer since freshman year, captain junior and senior year
Been playing club soccer on the same team for 7 years, won two league championships. Captain of that team for 3 years.
Been playing piano for 7 years, Won level 3 piano contest.
300+community service hours.
Been coaching AYSO boys soccer teams U-5 for three years.
I am working on earning my pilot's license, I have passed my written exam and need to finish 30 more in flight hours with my instructor to get my private pilot's license. I'm hoping to solo over the summer : )</p>

<p>I think my essay was really well written, I wrote about my love of flying and how my grandpa and I shard our love for airplanes. He introduced me into flying and it is our shared passion.<br>
I feel like some of the EC's I have are unique and different, but do you think that will be enough to catch a reader's eye? I hope so!</p>

<p>You definitely have a good chance, your GPA isn’t too far from their average and your SAT is above theirs. Your ec’s look good (: i think it’s definitely more likely you’ll get in than get rejected!</p>

<p>I think your ECs are really going to help your app. The SAT II Math IIC seems a bit low for comfort though :(</p>

<p>I would say you have a decent chance.</p>

<p>Slightly below average GPA, slightly below average SAT2, above average SAT1, some stellar ECs…</p>

<p>UCSB looks right down your alley. Don’t party too much.</p>

<p>With a little luck I would say your in. you have great ECS so make sure to write a good essay and have an amazing recc… otherwise you seem relatively ontarget I would definitely say low low reach/ high match</p>

<p>your pilot license thing will definitely catch the admissions eye its unique which will be great making up ffor your slightly below GPA… chance me back and ill keep my fingers crossed for ya haha</p>

i got rejected from my dream school… but it’s true, whatever happens is meant to be,
and i guess it wasn’t meant to be right now. but i will get there somehow :confused:
but you really do have a great chance, your SAT is pretty good and your ECs show you’re dedicated and well rounded,
don’t worry too much :)</p>

However, that Math II may raise some eyebrows
Besides the Math II, you seem like a perfect candidate there

<p>We were at UCSB today. Visited the scholars floor in San Nicholas. Very clean, nice. Watched waves rolling in from the dorm window. Warm ocean breeze drifting through the dorm hallway. Fresh, clean air. Walked outside the dorm near bike rack. Sound of gentle bubbling fountain in the background. Last students leaving for spring break, one girl lying out on the grass getting a suntan.</p>

<p>I definitely think the learning-to-fly thing will catch people’s eyes :slight_smile: The only thing I see is your Math II’s a bit low… other than that, I would bet you’d get accepted.</p>
