Drew University

I'm currently looking for some matches and came across Drew University. Does anyone know much about the school or the Economics Dept.?

Thanks

I live not too far away from Drew and have a friend that goes there. Seems like a great environment. Small and cozy.

I have heard the campus is pretty and one can get into NY city from there. It is supposed to be a solid, respected school. I am sure that if you are from Mo. they would love the geographic diversity.

Drew is also generous with merit aid and is very interested in recruiting students from beyond the NJ-NY-PA area, which is where most of their students come from right now. Their economics department is decently staffed for a college of this size, and I like their semester on Wall Street program which gives economics students first hand exposure to Wall Street. They have a similar program at the United Nations.

Drew is a beautiful school and the econ program is very solid, including the Wall Street semester that everyone is mentioning (though you must apply to that within the school). The student body is strong, and if you are in the top portion, they are indeed very generous with aid.

Drew, as some have pointed out, has some great internship opportunities in NYC. They also have some interesting study abroad programs in their January time off, summer and during the school year. I would suggest that anyone considering applying there go and tour the campus and have an interview. They are very clear that their interview is considered "evaluative" when admissions are considered. We were recently there, and I think this is a school better seen when classes are in session. They have a terrific new performing arts center (and you don't have to be an arts major to perform there). Their sports are Division III, and they have some club sports also. They have a fine equestrian program for those interested in that.
