Drexel Interview

I have a few questions for those of you who have already had your drexel med program interviews:

-were there 2 interviews (faculty & student?)
-was there a tour and info. session?
-what time was everything over?

thanks a lot!

They send you an intenerary

i had same questions too, but my interview is in two days, so i don't think they're gonna send me anything by then.

when you get to drexel, inthe morning the give you an intinerary before you start...you have a presentation on the med school, then your one faculty interview and then a student-guided tour of the med school. Oh, the tour and interview can be switched around...half of the ppl get tour first, other half get interview first

thanks a lot, i have the interview tomorrow and i was kind of worried.

I have the interview on friday, thanks for the information

any1 know how many people they interview vs accept? I'm hoping they made most cuts before the interview process otherwise I still have to majorly worried about it.

I think, but don't quote me, they accept about half of the people that they interview

i'm not sure, but i think i read that 149 get interviewed and 44 get in. I'm pretty sure that around 40 get in, but not how many get interviews.

i think its about half

http://www.drexel.edu/em/PDF/undergrad/accelerated/3882_BA_BS_MD.pdf
it says 40 get in, but i don't know how many get interviews. The interview was very laid back, my interviewer (Dr. Wagner) asked simple questions like "tell me about yourself" and "what do you like about your school?". We had an information session first, then a tour. After that, you either had an interview and then lunch with current med students or visa versa.

Oh, but thats only for Drexel Undergrad. I think they interview around 200 total and around 100 get into all of the undergrads combined.

ohh, i didn't know that.

i reading over an old e-mail and it says "The Drexel University College of Medicine is actively reviewing applications. The College of Medicine will send out letters to students in early February. All students will receive a letter indicating whether or not you have been selected for an interview. Less than 200 applicants will be selected for an interview. Last year, roughly half the students interviewed were admitted." so i guess ur right.

wow that's pretty good.

my interview was a bit rough though. I had dr. daetwyler (a swedish guy) and he spent the 30 minutes assuring me I was intelligent enough to become a doctor, but he didn't believe in 7 year programs as a whole, and that 17 year olds don't know their 'true calling' until they go through undergrad.

I kept stating that I wanted to become a doctor of my own opinion, and my family says that's exactly what I needed to do. so yea. we'll see when decisions come out.

well during my interview, everything was going fine until he asked the 7-year question. It's a really difficult question to answer because there isn't a clear-cut answer. I would really prefer a 8 year prg, which made it a lot harder for me to answer the question.

I have a drexel 7 year medical program interview this coming weekend.
I am nervous but I have had already 4 (general undergrad alumni and scholarship) interviews under my belt.

Any advice you all have would be fantastic.
Oh and how's the weather up there?

shawn - same for me. it was a bit hard to answer that question.

lebellanina, if you've done 4 interviews already, just be yourself and go for it. I talked to some of the other people that were interviewing at Drexel the same day as me, and no one else had the hard type of question that I did. You're unlucky if you end up w/ dr. daetwyler.

the weather was cold and windy when we went. luckily, the campus tour is all indoors.

I just had my Drexel interview today, thankfully I did not have that Swedish guy... but I had Dr. Wagner. He was nice and laid back as someone mentioned earlier. It was a pretty open ended interview.
Good luck to you all, and thanks for the advice.

i had dr.wagner too, he was nice and we talked about sports the whole time, lol.

Yeah we spent a lot of time on the weather and golf.. haha
