Hi, I'm a senior in high school who needs a little help deciding where I should go. I got into Rowan and Drexel universities (I live in South Jersey and would commute to either). I was initially set on computer engineering at Drexel for a number of reasons (5-year co-op, really nice facilities, a ton of clubs, getting a job out of college is really easy, etc...), but I visited Rowan last weekend and was blown away with what I saw and was told. They offer electrical and computer engineering together as one major and I was offered basically full tuition. They had really nice labs and stressed that their engineering experience is much more hands-on than other schools. They also said that they set students up with internships and have a very high (90%+) post graduation employment rate. I like those things and was really enticed by it. As a side-note, they also have a nice music program that I wouldn't mind doing on the side. What I want to know is whether or not that's all true. If I go to Rowan, will I be as prepared in the engineering world as I would be if I went to Drexel? I'd graduate from Drexel ~$50K in debt plus the cost of commuting but is that worth it? Rowan almost seems to good to be true and I'd really appreciate some input from people that have gone to / go to either school. Thanks!

Yes, you will be prepared and you will find a job as easily as from Drexel; Rowan is absolutely worth it. In addition, taking on all that debt is NOT worth it. So that makes Rowan the smarter choice. In addition, if you really want a co-op year, they’ll help you set you up for one (you’ll have to ask and plan, but it can be done.)
