Drexel or Stony Brook

Hi, I am currently a high school senior in CA and I am going to graduate in 2012. I am entering college as a pre-med student with an interest in becoming a doctor. I've been accepted into both Stony Brook and Drexel. Which one is the better choice? Please some opinions would be highly valued! I really like both schools but I am torn. Even as a CA resident, Stony Brook is only about 30,000 a year while Drexel is 55,000 a year. I've heard good things about both schools and I would REALLY appreciate some feedback! THANKS!

Congratulations! Have you had a chance to visit us here in Stony Brook yet?

OP, did either one offer you merit $? IIRC, SB sent me an offer of merit $ sometime after the acceptance letter. (about $10K/yr) So you might want to wait to see what happens.

Good point; I’ll add that scholarship notification will go out in early March.

Thanks! I have gotten an $11,500 scholarship to Drexel for per year for four years. I know that Stony Brook does not give out scholarship considerations until March. I have heard good things about both schools and would really appreciate some feedback! No I am going to visit the colleges soon! I was waiting for my replies since I cannot visit every school I’ve applied to. I am narrowing my list down and will then go visit them.

Hi, I would also like to add that I got into USciences as well. From there, I got a $14,000 per year for four years. I would also appreciate some feedback about that school as well! Thanks!

I’ve recently been accepted to both colleges as well…
So I just read from above that they don’t give out any scholarships until March…which is kind of dissapointing to me.
But I did get a Dean scholarship of 17500 if I attend Drexel.
Those aren’t my top schools, but I do like them. I would be interested to hear what you guys think and decide later on which might help me with my decision of choosing a college. :]

If you have any questions about Drexel feel free to PM me. I’m a graduating senior going to medical school in August.
