I know it's illegal to be any kind of inebriated, period while driving.

But is it illegal to be inebriated and not holding a can or driving (say drink before class). Or is their certain level of drink allowed?

it depends on where. in vegas it's legal to walk around with an open container, most places it's not (drunk in public laws). that's y hobos or people drinking in public have it in a brown paper bag. it's legal to be drunk, but illegal to be a nuisance. so if you're not crazy drunk you'll be fine

"it's legal to be drunk"

yay

More input plz?

btw, I want to experience, beers taken at different times, see what happens if it helps my anxiety/publicspeaking anxiety. For example, take one late night before, take one in the morning, take one during 45 min break etc.

dood....drinking all day is probably NOT a good idea. if you have social anxiety and public speaking problems, take a class or grow some balls and get out and meet people.
drink at night to get laid not to to help with anxiety

"i tried to drown my sorrows and they just became better swimmers"--Dale Pendell's Pharmako/poeia

I know people who have gone to class still drunk from the night before, so yes, it's possible (and most likely legal). I would not, however, recommend it.

Not drink all day

But say, get 5-10 beers, experiment over time

1 day drink night before, 1 day, drink 3 hours before 1st class@9.30
1 day, drink between break at 12.15-1

here is another thing. I'm sure it's illegal for underages to be caught with a can, drinking or not, but can they go after me for being drunk, put me "on suspicion", then search my dorm or anything?

dood...you're in college, you're telling me you lack the common sense of not only how to drink but what the punishment would be for being drunk? i hope you get caught, you insignificant and monotonous peon.

In North Carolina, it is illegal to have any alcohol in you at all if you are under 21. Police have the authority to breatalyze you at any time, even if you aren't driving or even in a car. Also, if you are a designated driver and you have people under 21 in your car who have been drinking, you will be charged with a crime (I think underage alcohol posession or aiding a minor) just for trying to be responsible.

i love california

"In North Carolina, it is illegal to have any alcohol in you at all if you are under 21. "

damn

It's the same in Pennsylvania. If you are under 21, they can breathalyze you at any time if they suspect you've been drinking.

In Penn, is there a level, or some alcohol=busted?

***!!! there shoukd be no drinkling laws!! vivaa la fiesta!

Hahaha. This sounds like an interesting experiment.

But if you think alcohol will help calm you down when you have to give a speech or something, I guess you could try it out.

Just be careful though. ;)

I'd rather be a red, slow doof than a blushing stuttering twitching doof

ooooo ur asian. well...why don't u try smoking pot? stuttering is often helped by that a lot.

u should just take a speech class tho.

O.o

I think a speech class would be a bit traumatic. Speech is for those seeking to be exceptional speakers yes, I'm just trying to get a grounding.

High, never tried it. How is it compared to being inebriated? The smell, your conciousness, etc

there are other things you can do in private that in most states aren't illegal and don't involve public intoxication to relieve stress. ;)

Why on earth if you have a fear of public speaking, would you want to consume alcohol prior to speaking?

Have you ever attempted to listen to a dunk? not pretty.

To get over my fear of public speaking I learned to use one method that has worked pretty well for me. Focus on a friendly face in the crowd and talk to him or her. It is much easier to talk with one person. Eventually, you'll learn how to branch out and make eye contact with others. But start small.

being a little bit high can probably help you not stutter, but will ramble up your ideas, so definitely have things written down.

you're much more functional being high than drunk.

dood honestly..a better man is a good orator. learn how to speak to people, learn how to speak in public. people respect you more.
