<p>@mavschamp, I think the concerns will be the same anywhere you drive and park your car, no matter what its make or model. Is there somewhere you can park where it isn’t likely to get hit (my college roommate’s car was totaled while parked on the street during college). You’ll need to find a reliable mechanic local to you (my D managed to blow a head gasket on her car while at school). In Georgia you won’t have to worry about snow and ice but my D’s car has also been iced in from a blizzard. You also are subject to tickets if you are parked where you shouldn’t be on campus or on the public street. IOW, all the same responsibilities and hassles that come along with car ownership follow you to college. Of course the benefits do as well. But I do think it’s worth thinking about whether you really need the car on campus or whether the hassles will outweigh the benefits.</p>
