Driving to Anderson, SC

<p>Could anyone recommend a driving route from Knoxville, TN to Anderson, SC?
(D has a softball tourney there this coming weekend).
I guess the simple way is I-40 East...to I-26....and then get on I-85 South somewhere around Spartanburg.......but I suspect this is also the "long" way.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.</p>
