I’m a junior in high school and so far, I have mostly gotten A’s in my classes, with the exception of a few A minuses. This is the first time I have taken AP classes, and for some reason I am doing awful in AP biology. I have failed 3 tests and the one test that I felt really really confident on, I got a 75% (which has never happened for me prior to this school year!). I have a low C- (think 70-73%) in the class and I am really struggling. I was wondering if it would be the smart choice to drop the class? Or if I’m not allowed to drop it since it so far in the school year, then should I not take it next semester? I have already decided that taking the AP exam will be a waste of time and money, and I am focusing on raising my GPA. I know that junior year is an important year and that colleges will look at it, so what should I do?
I am also taking precalc, AP lang, AP world history, and spanish 3, and while my precalc grade is not as high as it can be, I am doing fairly well in my classes
- Talk to your GC about options.
- AP Bio is more of a memorization type of class…you may not be studying right. You need to change what you do
