Drop Calc?

Okay, here's the thing: I've taken four math classes in highschool (not because I did bad one year, but I wanted to catch up to other honors kid in my grade) and I am now in Calculus. HOWEVER, we're about a month into the school year and I'm not doing that great... I have a 69. I'm really tempted to drop it, but I wanted to see what you guys thought. I would become a math aid instead for one of my old teachers that I work with on student council.

The colleges that I'm applying to are Albright, Ithaca, Fordham, Rider, Rutgers NB, Seton Hall, TCNJ, and Ursinus. While some of the colleges would never know about this if I drop, I already sent an application to Albright, Fordham, and Ursinus. While I'm not really worried about getting into theses school, I'm worried how it might look to the colleges when they see that I've dropped it in a mid/final year report... What should I do? Drop it? Stay with it? Help!

I had the same type of grade in pre-calc about a week to 2 weeks ago. I finished all my homework and studied hard for tests. Right now it's at a 75% and going up.

My advice: don't drop it...work really hard in that class and study alot. A "C" in an (I'm assuming it's an AP class?) AP class is not bad and unless you have block scheduling, you could bring it up to a "B" by the end of the first sem.

Depends on how much you think you can pull it up to. I'd rather drop it as opposed to getting a C(well unless it's maybe an AP) or a D. But my suggestion is work harder...and hope for a B/A. At this point in the school year, you dno't really have THAT many pts (unless your school started way early). I mean..hell, I had a C in AP german for the first month and wasn't worried, and one test/essay later I'm sitting on a flat A...

Calc really isn't that bad. Try it out some more.

Dropping a class because of a challenge and not out of lack of expanding one's knowledge is awful. Champion it.

I dropped calc. Best decision of my life.

(I actually haven't read any of the posts on this thread, so yeah... don't mind me.)

ive heard over and over again that universities REALLY want to see calc.
in addition, if you odn't take it now, you'll have to take it in college. might as well get it over with now.

You don't HAVE to take it in college. Depends on your major. You can get out of it if you put your mind to it.

indeed you can. but chances are you'll have to take it. again, the more selective schools will really want to see it.
