Dropping a math class entirely? Would that be very bad for me if I did Senior year?

I'm in my Junior year. This year, I am taking Precalc and AP Stats at the same time. however, math is not my forte, I get high B's in them every year, but I don't mind. I'm supposed to go to AP Calculus AB next year... but I heard and know that the teacher for that class is an absolute mess. Rarely anyone gets a B or above. Even my friends that get straight A's get a D in that class! And they are very good with math! I can't take that chance! I just can't! I know Calc is very beneficial to my future, but it is just not worth it.

I decided to just drop math class. I have my Algebra 1, algebra 2, Geometry, and Stats credit already. However, having no math next year as a senior, I heard, is a VERY bad thing. But here is the thing. Math is the only thing that stresses me out every year at school because I suck at math. But every other class; Science, history, classes that you can just read and study, I do perfectly fine!

If I drop math entirely next year, but take other AP classes that are not math classes to supplement for that loss (I'm planning to take 5 Ap classes instead of 4 if I take calc because math requires so much time to master and study) of a math class, will colleges still look down upon me? Should I just take Calc anyways? Any more tips and thoughts? Thank you so much and I appreciate the help!

Bump :(

I think a lot depends on what you plan to major in and what the rest of your schedule will look like. I have past students, who although very bright, math was just not their strongest subject. For those who were not STEM majors, some dropped Math, but supplemented with English/History AP’s, poly sci, AP Psych, etc. They still had rigor and a strong GPA. Many made tier 1 schools! Important to follow your passions.

Best of luck to you Fortuitousphreak!
