I did poorly in college as a freshman due to health issues and dropped out. I later went to a vocational school for medical assisting and passed my certification with 97%. Now that I am not sick anymore I want to go back to school and am confident I would excel, but I’m worried my poor grades would hold me back. The undergrad program I want to get in too requires a 3.5 to get it, but I’m worried even if I somehow aced every prereq I wouldn’t meet this. Is there anything I can do to salvage this or have I ruined my chances at getting into this program?
My $.02 - go talk to the admission department of the program you are interested in. Bring a copy of your freshman transcripts and let them help figure out your best course of action in getting admitted.
