Dropped Out of IB, how will it affect my Admission

Hey guys, I have just finished my Junior Year in High School. During the first semester i was in the IB diploma program however i dropped because i just did not like the program and how it was structured, plus since it had only recently started in my school it did not have many of classes to offer. Anyway I finished my second semester of reg High school with a 4.1 GPA, and i am taking AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus AB next year. Will the fact that i dropped out of the diploma program affect my Admission chances in universities?

Sorry to break it to ya, but it will negatively affect your admissions (I too dropped out and am in Gr. 11). My school’s IB curriculum is focused on the sciences, whereas I’m more of a liberal arts student (economics, history, finance, philosophy, etc). Hence, IB wasn’t suited for me. However, all the Ivy Leagues say that you should go for the most rigorous academic principle, which in your (and my case) is IB.
Oh well, that’s life. Can’t win 'em all.

shucks, problem with my school is you cannot take IB classes without taking the Diploma, so yeah i wanted to take some APs in senior year :(

I don’t think it would be that big of a deal since you’ll be taking AP Classes. I’m pretty sure people overestimate the bridge in difficulty. Many people that did IB & AP say the material for most classes what about the same.
