Dropping a class, TAG accepted

Hello everyone,

My TAG for UC Davis (Biochemistry and Cell Bio) got accepted, however I plan to drop a class ( First-semester Spanish) because I'm having a difficult time with the class material and I have to focus more on my major subjects. Will the UC Davis admission revoke my TAG by doing that?

Lemme add that I didn't do the IGETC. :D

Thank you so much :)

I’d suggest emailing an Admissions officer because that’s what I did.

I called UC Davis admissions yesterday. They told me that I could drop that class because I have more than enough units required for the TAG. However, I’m still a bit skeptical about dropping. :c

When is the deadline to drop the course without receiving a letter grade?

If they say it’s ok to drop, just make sure you explain why you dropped the class in the additional comments section of the application if you do decide to drop the class.

I also got the ok to drop my class too and I dropped it. :p

@Turtle My last day to drop with a W is on the 22nd.
@ETL That’s what they said to me too. I’ll drop my Spanish class tomorrow after I talk to my professor. :P

I concur to drop the class if they have told you it is okay, however there’s a caveat - I’d email to have the record in writing (er, type), just in case you find out your application was adversely affected by the change, you can show them that they said it would not be.

@Turtle Thanks for the heads up! I’ll keep that in mind.
